How Highway Duels Work

The Race Circle

Drive into the yellow circle beside the dealership, under the Fastest Lap leaderboard, to queue into a highway duel against other players on the server.

Where to start

Position Feeds the Multiplier

Your race standing feeds the same combo multiplier used for near-misses, so a strong finish compounds your run's cash and XP instead of just a flat prize.

Skill-based

Winning Pays Extra

Crossing the line first pays a bonus on top of the multiplier. Even a loss still banks the chain-combo cash you earned during the duel, so every race is net-positive.

Always worth it

Race Payout Tiers

~12,000
1st Place

Top payout + full multiplier bonus

~9,000
2nd Place

Strong consolation, still multiplier-fed

~6,000
3rd Place

Banked combo cash makes it net-positive

Payout figures transcribed from community gameplay footage (Kenji, Aug 2026) and will vary with your multiplier and any active boosts.

Win More, Grind Faster

Prioritize Handling

A grippy, controllable car holds tighter racing lines and near-misses under pressure. Raw top speed wins straights but loses corners — see the Car Tier List for balanced picks.

Launch Clean

Max your launch-control RPM limit and upgrade engine, induction and launch control first so you leave the circle ahead before traffic closes the gap.

Private-Server Grind

Host a private server (Friends allowed) and put a phone alt in the race, then reset the alt mid-race so your main always takes 1st — roughly 1:30 per run, up to ~16,500 with driving money.

Use the Teleport Button

The 8/21 update added a teleport-to-dealership button in the bottom UI, letting you skip resets between runs and chain races back-to-back.

Ghost Driver Races FAQ

Q.Where do I start a race in Ghost Driver?

Drive into the yellow circle near the dealership, just under the Fastest Lap leaderboard. It queues you into a highway duel against other players currently on the server.

Q.Do races give good cash in Ghost Driver?

Yes — far more than free-roam cruising. Payouts scale with finishing position (about 12,000 for 1st, 9,000 for 2nd, 6,000 for 3rd) and your race standing also feeds the near-miss multiplier, so even losing banks combo cash.

Q.What is the fastest way to grind race wins?

Host a private server with a phone alt in the race and reset the alt mid-race so your main always finishes 1st. Pair it with the teleport-to-dealership button to chain runs in about 90 seconds each.

Q.Which car is best for races?

A balanced S-tier model around $260K with roughly 330 km/h top speed beats twitchy limiteds — it holds corners while still winning straights. Compare options on the Car Tier List and Tuning guide.
